BULLSBROOK HASH HOUSE HARRIERS
Hash House Harriers are a group of like-minded
individuals who share a belief that a little exercise will
expunge the excesses of the previous debaucherous week. The
little exercise is usually replenished with copious amounts of
local beer. They are sometimes referred to as 'drinkers with a
running problem'.
'Hash' began as a small group of expatriates
in Kuala Lumpur in 1938 and has grown to a worldwide community
of 1500+ clubs scattered around all points of the globe.
International get-togethers are held every 2 years attracting
crowds of up to 5000 'runners'.
Bullsbrook Hash House Harriers, in Perth,
Western Australia, started in January 1978. Its founders were
mostly military types who had experienced the pleasures of hash
in previous posting to Malaysia and decided to spread the
contagion amongst locals of Western Australia.
The runs are held every Monday at 1830Hrs,
somewhere around Perth. To participate you need:
About A$20 for run, beers and food,
Eating irons/utensils,
Weird sense of humour.
